You couldn't google Saltines?

Lemme guess, Breyer ends up moving into the B&B. Yawn

That was so sweet.

Some of you are still not in the Christmas spirit, are you?!

Wouldn't it be great, if it happened to you [no job, no food], that someone would care enough for you to take matters into their hands, and save you from starvation?

Let's see what happens on the 3rd day of Christmas, when the next episode is to be published.

Some of you need to make more direct posts rather then weird ones because you lack balls.

Why didn't Breyer just report the guy?

Two responses:

To Peter: the next episode, (the Holiday episode!), will actually be posted here early, on Christmas Eve, instead of 2 days after Christmas... so that, whatever your Christmas plans happen to be, (or NOT be), you'll have Kyle's B&B to spend the holiday with!

To Michelle: Breyer should have reported the guy, but... being that he lost his cool and punched him in the face, he kind of negated his whole position. He was lucky he only got fired, and didn't get charged with assault. But you're right... he should have reported the incident, or at least confronted the guy without getting physically violent.

I have dealt with small minded people most of my life.. And its hard sometime trying to be the bigger or more mature man when they are coming at you like you are the weakest link....howevr..I have learned to listen and not to acknowledge these people when I have to work around them...like they are dust in the Wind...

Sometimes I've wanted to deck someone too but I don't let people like that have the power over me anymore.
I would have reported the guy to HR pronto and not even given him the reaction he obviously was fishing for and then smirk when he hopefully gets fired . I'd be grateful to have a guy like Kyle to take care of me in that situation. I mean crackers and Tang - Breyer if you want to be that guy for Kyle then don't wallow man , just get a job.

@Greg, I'm looking forward to it. An early birthday gift! [BTW, I don't fit in a crib anymore, unless it's 7 foot tall]

I don't blame Breyer at all, I'm sure we've all wanted to punch some homophobe for making ignorant remarks in the past. It just seems like Breyer's the more level headed one of the bunch. Maybe this will lead to a better job for him in the New Year.

let me come from a different angle and put something on your heads. I faced a similar situation on a job where the other guy was a little bigger than me. He called me faggot, sissy, bitch, pussy, morfodice ( a slang term for hermorphrodite--and a true "fighting" word). When I had had enough I beat his ass--man to man. I broke his arm and if I wasn't stopped I may have broken something else. When the police came he said, "he broke my arm, he punched me in the face, he kicked me in the chest and ribs...." One of the other guys said, "Oh--now it's 'he'. Before you called him a bich, faggot, and a morfodice--now that you got your ass kicked its 'he.' The policeman said you don't call people names like that bro. Everybody's got a limit. They took us both to jail and then we both dropped the charges against each other, paid fines for public disturbances and life went on. He quit--unable to face the others after having been beaten by this "sissy." I stayed there for a few more years befor moving on. I don't blame Breyer. He's a big man--and if he didn't stand up for himself he's everything they called him. I apologize for the rough language Some words should never be written. Sorry...

Kaspar, I am sorry you had to go through that. Others who have_I am sorry. Towards lesbians it is at least ususally more covert so while we are very aware we are not pushed to the wall.

I would like to suggest that anyone who wants to be known as "Anonymous" not criticize others for not having balls-"Some of you need to make more direct posts rather then weird ones because you lack balls.".

@Leni, Girl you've got balls! You've said it what a lot of readers think.

[put a comma in a wrong place, sorry]

@ Kasper. Thank you for sharing your story. Wow. You really went through a major experience there. Sounds like you learned a lot, too... I'm so glad it all worked out in the end.

Oh, and one other thing about this episode.... the homophobic boss Breyer was dealing with is also the owner of the company. This wasn't a corporate situation where Breyer could report this to HR. It's a small business, with few employees, and there's no one above the boss to report him to. Still doesn't justify Breyer's actions, (he could have taken legal action to deal with his boss), but it may help explain why it happened.

People love to criticize. I think this week's episode was great, and Breyer looks delicious in those boxer briefs!

@anonymous -the one who said to post directly and being anonymous lacks balls yet your post is signed anonymous

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black- what nerve. And I suppose every Tom Dick and Harry is giving their real names on here. Why should you or anyone else judge people based on the fact they aren't using a real name regardless of what's posted. Safety and security is why people don't so psychos and others don't use it against them.

As for kasper - that's deplorable what you went through and I definitely could see myself going ape shit in that situation. I do abhor violence as an answer though even in that extreme situation and you're quite lucky that someone else spoke up or you could have been sitting in jail a lot longer.
I just wish there was an answer but it seems that sometimes it comes to risking our lives and careers. I'm surprised you were allowed to continue working there and that the other guy even was allowed to return even though he quit. Seems like a bad work environment. I hope your life is much better now. Finally regarding Breyer - he should have told Kyle right off - this pride bullshit doesn't pay the rent or feed you. He obviously didn't think much of Kyle to think Kyle would love him any less. Gte over yourself and move on Breyer - be happy you didn't wind up in jail or worse.

kasper said...

@Jerry Polito--the altercation wasn't on the job site. So they had nothing to do with it.The guys who spoke up were black men who said they didn't care what I did in private and that they understood "that type of bull (prejudice)." Thanks for the inquiry--I am doing better now. And I was a lot younger then. To the people in comicdom---I am sorry to have upset you with this commentary. But verbal bashing can be as bad as physical bashing. Look at all the young gay kids commiting suicide because of it..

Peter said...

@Kasper, it was a brave thing to do, speaking out. It doesn't matter that you did it here in -comicdom-, you got it of your chest and people who care reacted.

Hope you have a merry christmas with the people you love.

Greetings from Amsterdam, the Netherlands

@Kaspar.... I also applaud you for speaking out about this. Yes, it was an upsetting, bad situation for you.. and yes, with hindsight, you can see how you could have acted differently. But by sharing it here you have educated all of us and have helped to bring something positive out of what was a negative situation. What is so clear to anyone who reads your post is how you've learned from this yourself, and that insight has lifted you to a higher place. Thank you, and Happy Holidays to you. Happy Holidays to us all!!!!

I really wish you would learn how light and shadow work, instead of using some made up formula that you apply every single time, regardless of what is actually going on.

And to think you teach.
